I vacuumed up a tape measureer at work.?
Today I was vacuuming at work.
I was using a Henry hoover (I live in UK. I’m not sure if you have them in USA or not). I was using the suction part of the vacuum cleaner when I accidently vacuumed up a tape measurer which had fallen up the floor. The air from the vacuum cleaner kind of sucked it up. I took it apart but it has gone into the bag inside.
Now it makes a sort of whistling noise and I’m worried I’ve damaged it and will have to pay for it. To make matters worse, I took the thing to bits and probably haven’t put it back properly. I told my manageress and she said it’s probably okay but I’m still worried.
I’m not due back into work until Wednesday and am worried someone will use it tomorrow and it will not work properly.
No answers? Never mind. I suppose I will have to see that as ‘no news is good news’ – in other words that I have not damaged the vacuum cleaner and it’s okay.

the henry hoover has the filter before the fan you should be fine but the whistle is the wind blowing past the tape measure , or possibly the seat didnt get put back correctly but i would say good chance that its all good so mellow out and dont let the dopey people who say your in trouble get to you
do you know what you call someone who has never made a mistake?
GOD … and thats not me lol
Usually people are forgiving and will ask you to be more careful next time. Unless they are a bitter person, don’t worry about it. We all make mistakes and you came clean and told them what happened which looks better on your part
Have a great weekend!
Well it will break, but I’m sure they will forgive you
It will take an experienced person in these matters only a short while in which to remove the obstruction. You have fessed up to the manageress, been told that any problem is unlikely.Believe it. Your manageress has probably encountered this problem many times before and has become an excellent judge of matters in this one. Before she became manageress ,she may herself have been in the position of things going up the vacuum cleaner !
At your job you must be extra careful with what you do. Yeah, because what could happen is that you will either have to pay for it, or get written up, suspended, and even fired. Talk to your boss about the situation to see what happens. Good luck!
